Next Generation Capture Technology – Benchmarking and Performance Analysis
This project provided analysis and an objective view of the techno-economic performance of a range of both current and next generation CO2 capture technologies.
The project included pre and post combustion and oxyfuel CCS plant technologies for the analysis generated by this project helped to benchmark previous studies that had been undertaken on coal and gas fired power stations designs typical of those used in UK markets. It considered factors determined performance factors such as the capital cost of power stations and the efficiency and levelised cost of electricity generation both with and without using CCS.
The findings from the project helped shape ETI thinking for further activities undertaken across its CCS programme.
