The ETI has appointed Jonathan Wills to the position of Director of Programme Delivery.
Jonathan will be responsible for the continued development of the ETI’s portfolio of technology programmes in the field of offshore wind, marine, energy storage and distribution, carbon capture & storage, transport and bioenergy. He will manage and lead a team of more than 20 programme and project managers.
Founded in 2007, the ETI is a public-private partnership between global energy and engineering companies – (BP, Caterpillar, EDF, E.ON, Rolls-Royce and Shell) – and the UK Government. Its role is to bring together engineering projects that accelerate the development of affordable, secure and sustainable technologies that helps the UK address its long term emissions reductions targets as well as delivering nearer term benefits.
Previous to this role Jonathan has held a number of senior programme and business delivery leadership roles with BAE Systems. He has also successfully managed an energy consultancy business.
Commenting on his appointment, Jonathan Wills, the new Director of Programme delivery, said: “This new role is a big challenge, but one I am relishing. The ETI has developed a strong portfolio of projects across a number of technology areas. Our role continues to be focused on accelerating the development of low carbon technology in the UK, to help the country not only transition to a low carbon economy but also to benefit from the economic opportunities technology innovation creates.”
