ETI response to TUC and CCSA CCS report
Andrew Green, Programme Manager for CCS at the ETI said: “The TUC and CCSA have published a report called ‘The economic benefits of carbon capture and storage in the UK. Our modelling work shows that in any transition to a low carbon energy system in the UK, CCS is a critical lever. But to make that a reality we need to advance the industry and that includes knowledge building and the demonstration of technology at scale. The report uses some data provided by the ETI and includes a map of potential UK storage sites which is taken from the ETI’s database created within our £4m UK CO2 Storage Appraisal Project. This database is now available commercially through The Crown Estate and the British Geological Survey via www.co2stored.co.uk”
